Your Role
As a SAP ABAP Developer, you’ll be a key technical contributor at Technogym, driving innovation and operational excellence in our enterprise resource planning ecosystem. We are looking for a passionate developer who thrives on solving complex business and supply chain challenges through elegant, modern, and performant technical solutions.
You will help shape the technical direction of our new SAP S/4HANA RISE cloud platform. Acting in a modern cloud-first landscape, you will architect and build scalable custom applications while adhering to the “Clean Core” development paradigm, ensuring our core ERP remains upgrade-stable, agile, and fully integrated with our digital ecosystem.
Your Impact
- Design, develop, test, and deploy high-quality, custom SAP solutions using Modern ABAP (ABAP OO, ABAP SQL, AMDP) and the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) or Cloud-ready Business Object Processing Framework (BOPF).
- Champion the “Clean Core” strategy by utilizing SAP BTP (Business Technology Platform) and modern extensibility patterns (On-Stack Developer Extensibility / Key User Extensibility and Side-by-Side Extensibility) to keep our S/4HANA RISE system clean and agile.
- Build and maintain robust integrations between SAP S/4HANA and external systems (including Salesforce, legacy applications, and web platforms) using SAP Integration Suite (formerly CPI) via APIs, OData services, RFCs, and event-driven architectures.
- Collaborate closely with SAP Functional Analysts, business stakeholders, and system architects to translate complex global business requirements into reliable technical specifications.
- Conduct code reviews, define ABAP development standards, and mentor junior developers in adopting modern SAP programming practices.
- Ensure excellent performance and code quality by leveraging SAP performance analysis tools (ATC, SQL Trace, SAT) and creating automated unit tests.
- Participate actively in release management, deployment automation, and modern SAP ALM/CI-CD workflows.
About You
- 3–5 years of hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development, with proven expertise in custom object design, ABAP Object-Oriented (OO) programming, and S/4HANA architectures.
- Strong understanding of modern SAP extensibility models and experience developing in SAP S/4HANA environments (knowledge of the RISE with SAP ecosystem is highly preferred).
- Familiarity with OData service development (via SEGW or RAP) and consumption of REST/SOAP APIs.
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Management Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience (we value actual skills and projects over formal credentials).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on code efficiency, system performance, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills in English (written and verbal), with the ability to explain complex technical SAP structures to non-technical business partners.
