Your Role

We are looking for a Product Quality Assurance Engineer - Electronics with comprehensive, cross-functional expertise in electronic quality. In this role, you will be the key point of reference for defining, achieving, and continuously improving the quality standards of our highly complex, high-value hardware systems (including their firmware and software), ensuring their seamless integration into the final product.

Working in close synergy with R&D, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Technical Service teams, you will ensure the reliability of key components such as advanced user interfaces, drivers, motors, wiring harnesses, actuators, sensors, and personal devices. You will oversee both product and process quality across the entire product lifecycle (from conceptualization to phase-out) with the ultimate goal of delivering a superior customer experience.

Your Impact

As a Product Quality Assurance Engineer - Electronics, you will drive quality excellence across 3 core strategic pillars:

  1. QUALITY STRATEGY & DATA INTELLIGENCE
  • Target Setting: Define and champion quality objectives aligned with Technogym’s high-performance standards, while continuously updating market quality benchmarks.
  • AI-Driven Insights: Analyze quality data from the field, production, and supply chain, leveraging Artificial Intelligence to transform complex metrics into actionable insights for all internal teams.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive product and process optimization initiatives using Kaizen methodologies.
  1. DESIGN ASSURANCE & NEW PRODUCT INTRODUCTION (NPI)
  • Prevention & Requirements: Define quality requirements (design, production, installation) and mitigate risks early in the lifecycle by leading DFMEA and supporting process PFMEA.
  • Active Design Reviews: Participate in technical Design Reviews, providing critical input on the reliability, manufacturability, and testability of electronics, including firmware and software.
  • Validation & Development: Partner with R&D to support debug cycles, alpha/beta testing, and the development of new electronic components.
  1. FAILURE ANALYSIS & SUPPLIER QUALITY
  • Root Cause Analysis: Oversee field and assembly failure analysis, driving root-cause identification using Lean Six Sigma methodologies (e.g., 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa).
  • CAPA & Resolution: Coordinate and monitor the effectiveness of containment and corrective actions (CAPA), aligning R&D, Operations, Technical Support, and Supply Chain.
  • Supplier Qualification & Auditing: Partner with the Supply Chain team to manage electronic component non-conformances, vendor auditing, and process qualifications (APQP, PPAP).

About You

You are the ideal candidate if you possess a proactive and ethical mindset, are highly collaborative, and are driven by a passion for technological excellence.

What you should bring:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality engineering, preferably within design or manufacturing environments involving complex electronics and firmware/software architectures.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronic Engineering, Mechatronics, Telecommunications, or Computer Science. Quantitative backgrounds (Statistics, Mathematics) are a plus for data analytics.
  • Previous experience in high-complexity sectors such as Automotive, Consumer Electronics, White Goods, or industries with complex electro-mechanical assemblies.
  • Strong ability to read schematics, analyze electronic architectures/specifications, and perform hands-on lab debugging (using oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.).
  • Deep knowledge of electronic components, PCB assembly processes (SMT, THT), end-of-line testing, and typical failure modes.
  • Knowledge of electronic system design flows, system integration methodologies, and Hardware Verification and Validation (V&V) processes.
  • Quality & Risk Methodologies: Mastery of APQP, PPAP, process auditing, and standard problem-solving tools (8D, Ishikawa, 5 Whys, FMEA).
  • Management Systems: Familiarity with ISO 9001 and, ideally, specific standards such as IATF 16949 (Automotive) or ISO 13485 (Medical Devices).
  • Product Safety & Certification: Understanding of global certification processes (CE, UL, CSA) and electrical safety standards (e.g., IEC/EN 62368-1, and optionally IEC/EN 60601-1).
  • Industry certifications: familiarity with IPC-A-610 (Acceptability of Electronic Assemblies) and ANSI/ESD S20.20 (ESD Requirements).
  • EMC & Reliability: Familiarity with electromagnetic compatibility directives (EMC, FCC, RED for connected devices), environmental testing standards (IEC 60068), and accelerated life testing (HALT/HASS).
  • Data Intelligence: Strong statistical mindset and the ability to leverage Artificial Intelligence to turn complex quality data into strategic insights.
