Your Role
We are looking for a Plastic Technologist Engineer who will be a trusted technical reference on plastic technologies across the organization. You will lead the definition of engineering standards, drive the strategic selection of materials and processes, and shape the technical direction of plastic component development from concept to production. As a key point of reference for our R&D, Quality, and Production teams, you will translate cutting-edge plastic engineering principles into high-quality, cost-efficient, and sustainable solutions that set the benchmark for Technogym's product excellence.
Your Impact
- Own and evolve the company's technical standards for plastic materials, processes, and systems — setting the bar for quality, performance, and sustainability across all product lines.
- Act as the primary technical reference for plastic engineering, guiding cross-functional teams (R&D, Quality, Production) in design decisions, feasibility assessments, and compliance.
- Lead the design and development of plastic parts and assemblies, from material selection through to process validation.
- Define and optimize manufacturing processes (injection molding, extrusion, thermoforming, and beyond), ensuring efficiency, scalability, and alignment with Technogym's sustainability goals.
- Scout and evaluate emerging technologies and materials, translating innovation into actionable standard updates and competitive advantage.
- Drive testing and validation programs for plastic components, ensuring performance and safety requirements are consistently met.
- Champion continuous improvement across materials and processes, sharing expertise through internal training and technical knowledge-transfer programs.
- Contribute to shaping a high-performing engineering culture where technical excellence and innovation go hand in hand.
About You
Ideally, you are passionate about working out, enthusiastic and proactive, while also downto-earth and ethical. You enjoy working in a team and are interested in product innovation. You are results and customer-driven and strive to continuously improve.
What you should bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or related field.
- Proven experience in plastic technology and manufacturing processes.
- Good knowledge of CAD software and simulation tools.
- Familiarity with international standards and regulations for plastic components.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
- Experience with sustainable materials and recycling technologies.
- Knowledge of mold design and tooling.
- Project management capabilities.
- Leadership
