About the Role
At Technogym we put data at the forefront of all decisions. As Lead Data Engineer you will lead a small team working on ingestion, storage, processing and transformation of both internal and customer data across all products of the Technogym Ecosystem.
In this role you will manage directly other Data Engineers and work cross-functionally with Data Scientist, Cloud Engineers and other technical teams working on Technogym Products. You will inform and guide Technogym’s consumer data strategy to ensure consistency, quality and reliability
Responsibilities
- Influence the data strategy together with more senior members of the Technogym’s Engineering.
- You will guide other engineering and products teams in developing their data pipelines.
- You will set the best practices and guidelines for data access and exploration.
- You will develop and/or set up databases, data collection systems, data analytics and other strategies that optimize statistical efficiency and quality.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, mathematics, or related field.
- 4-6 years of experience with data processing software (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, BigQuery, Dataflow) and algorithms (e.g., MapReduce).
- Experience coding in Python and using its and its libraries: pandas, numpy, Jupiter.
- Fluent in English and Italian
Preferred qualifications:
- 2-4 years of experience in managing people with direct reports.
- Demonstrated leadership in building data science models from start to finish, including defining a problem statement, exploring approaches, conducting analyses, presenting to stakeholders
- Prior experience in bioinformatic analysis, medical research or the fitness industry
- Experience with Looker, BigQuery and Google Cloud products
